Formally, ViHOPE is anchored at the University of Vienna, initiated by the Department of Near Eastern Studies, in close collaboration with colleagues from the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies and the Faculty of Catholic Theology (Alevi Theology). From the very beginning, it is conceived as a joint venture with colleagues from the Central European University and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. As an overarching framework, the Cluster of Excellence EurAsian Transformations serves as a unifying umbrella, bringing together members from all three institutions.
